Lake
Skinner consists of 6,040 acres of land and lake, with a lake
surface of 1,200 acres. It is owned and operated by the Metropolitan
Water District of Southern California and is open 7 days a
week from sunrise to sunset. The lake store is well supplied
with all of the necessities such as bait, tackle, fishing licenses,
equipment and food. The Café is open on the weekends for breakfast
and lunch.
- Boating – Guests may bring their own vessels to the
lake, however, boat rentals are also available starting
at $28 for 2 hours or $55 per day.
- Fishing – Fishing may be done from boats or the shoreline
with a valid fishing license. The lake has one of the best
Striped bass fisheries in the state.
- Kayaking/Canoeing – Guests may bring their own equipment.
- Swimming – The Swimming Pool is open starting Memorial
Day weekend through the third weekend in September.
- Camping – 41 developed campsites, 18 developed equestrian
campsites with electricity, 178 full hookups, group camping
(reservations required).
- Hiking/Equestrian Trails – Hiking Trails and Equestrian
Trails are available and open to the public.

The lake prohibits swimming, personal watercraft, water skiing,
jet skiing, float tubes or body contact of any kind.
